Bringing Hope Through Community Support: Little Forget Me Nots Trust Receives £1500 Grant from Tesco's Blue Token Scheme

A message from our Community Connections Officer, Catherine Muldoon.

I'm so excited to share some wonderful news that truly warms our hearts at Little Forget Me Nots Trust.

Our mission of supporting bereaved parents and families has taken a step forward, thanks to the incredible community spirit we have right here in Lurgan, Portadown, and Craigavon.

A Big Win for Little Forget Me Nots Trust

Imagine our delight when we received the news that we've been awarded a generous £1500 grant through the Tesco Community Grants Blue Token Scheme! This isn't just about the money; it's a testament to the unwavering support and love our community has for those who have experienced loss. Because of your support, this grant will enable us to continue our important work of being a guiding light for those navigating the difficult path of grief.

The Tesco Community Grants Scheme initiative empowers charities and organisations like ours to apply for grants of up to £1,500. What's unique is that it's the community's voice that truly counts. Every quarter, three local causes get the chance to be part of the Blue Token customer vote in Tesco stores across the UK.

During the April to June period, it was nothing short of heartwarming to see how our community rallied behind us. You voted for Little Forget Me Nots Trust, and your votes spoke volumes about the value you see in our work. The result? A much-needed grant of £1500 that will directly impact the lives of bereaved parents and families we aim to support.

From the bottom of our hearts, we extend our thanks. To Tesco, for initiating and sustaining this wonderful scheme that uplifts local initiatives and brings communities closer together. And to each one of you who took a moment to place that blue token in our column. Your gesture echoes our mission - that no one has to go through the journey of grief alone.

With this grant, we're eager to expand our support services. We plan to continue our Just Be Cafes that offer a therapeutic outlet to help bereaved parents overcome hurdles and embrace their journey of healing. These sessions aren't just about the crafts; they're about building connections, sharing stories, and finding hope in the midst of pain. This grant means we are able to do something very special for Baby Loss Awareness Week in October and we can't wait to share more about it next week!

Since our inception in 2020, Little Forget Me Nots Trust has been a beacon of hope for over 100 bereaved parents. But we're not stopping here. We're committed to breaking the stigma around discussions of grief, especially regarding the loss of a child. Our outreach programs, fully funded art therapy, and Just Be Cafes, all have one goal: to let you know that you're never alone in your grief.

We're excited to continue this journey with you, our remarkable community, and to bring comfort, understanding, and a ray of hope to those who need it most.

Thank you for being the heart and soul of our work.

Catherine
