Hello, dear friends of the Little Forget Me Nots Trust!
I'm Catherine Muldoon, and I have the privilege of serving as the Community Connections Officer for our beloved organisation. Today, I want to share with you something truly special that is happening on October 15th, 2023 - our very own Little Forget Me Nots Trust Basketball Tournament!
First and foremost, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who has been a part of our journey. The support, love, and kindness you've shown to bereaved families who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child is nothing short of remarkable. Your dedication is what fuels our mission to bring solace, healing, and creativity to these families.
It is with a heart full of gratitude that I invite you to join us in something truly exciting. We have teamed up with the South Lake Leisure Centre for a day that promises to be nothing short of magical. The Basketball Tournament, which will take place from 14:30 to 18:00, is not just about scoring points on the court; it's about scoring points in the hearts of those we aim to help.
Organised by the wonderful McKenna Family in connection with the Lurgan Lakers Basketball team and Armagh, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council, this event will be an incredible opportunity to come together, play ball and find out more about the charity.
We encourage all of you to gather your friends, family, and colleagues and join the "Little Forget Me Nots Trust" team. Whether you're a seasoned pro or a newcomer to the sport, this tournament is open to all levels of experience. And if you already have a basketball team, don't hesitate to sign them up! The more, the merrier, as they say.
The registration period for teams is from September 2nd to 7th, and there is a registration fee of £200 per team. It's important to note that every penny of this fee will go directly to supporting our cause. You'll also receive a set of Playr-Fit Jerseys as a token of our appreciation.
Each team can have up to 8 players, and the age requirement is 16 and up. We're not just about competition; we're about building a sense of community and camaraderie. Teams can be male, female, or mixed - everyone is welcome.
To register your team or to seek more information, please feel free to reach out to our dear friend Paul McKenna at paul.mckenna@lurganlakers.com or call him at 07706556029.
This tournament isn't just about basketball; it's about coming together as a community, celebrating life, and making a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most. Every hoop sunk, every cheer, and every smile will contribute to our mission of healing hearts.
I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to you all once again for being the backbone of the Little Forget Me Nots Trust. Your generosity, your unwavering support, and your dedication to our cause make a world of difference.
So, let's dribble, shoot, and score for a cause that truly matters. Join us at the South Lake Leisure Centre on October 15th for a day that promises to be filled with sportsmanship, unity, and the knowledge that we are making a difference in the lives of bereaved families.
Thank you from the depths of my heart for being a part of this incredible journey. Together, we can bring a little more light into the world.
With gratitude and warmest regards,
Catherine Muldoon
